Children’s Sabbath School Department
Wimbledon Children’s Sabbath School has a very important role within Children’s ministries. It plays an important part in whether a child makes a decision to accept Jesus in their life, whilst they are young, or in their teenage or adult lives.
How do we do this: Through a goal oriented spiritual education that is meant to:
- Present a personal Christ
- Teach a GRACE LINK curriculum
- Simulate an interest in scripture
- Teach moral responsibility
- Welcome ethnic diversity
- Involve the young in service
- Involve the young in mission outreach
- Encourage high self regard
(Adapted from the BUC Website)
Children’s Sabbath school takes place every Saturday from 9.50am – 11am at the rear of the church. All age groups join together before splitting in their age appropriate groups. We try to teach classes as creatively as possible.
We have an amalgamated beginners / kindergarten class 0 -4 a class full of singing, hands on activity. For little ones and their parents to enjoy.
A bubbly class of 5 – 9 year olds who use drama, art to study God’s words
A class for 10 – 12 year olds, who have the ability to study deeper.
At Wimbledon we offer the cornerstone class for the 13 – 15, thought provoking lessons, which challenge young minds, whist giving a modern angle to God’s word.
Each class has a book for the children that last for 3mth which we refer to as quarterlies. They have a lesson for each week, which they start on Sabbath. There are activities enclosed for each day of week that the children can do with their families or alone.
Children’s Ministries
We aim to nurture children aged between 0 – 13, and support their families. In particular those families of a newly dedicated child.
